There are some fabulous restaurants in Goa and restaurants for every budget, here’s an opportunity to highlight the lesser known places, who either can’t afford to advertise or simply don’t want to!
The only criteria is that it falls into the ‘100 bucks or less’ bracket, ideally it’s for excellent food but maybe it’s the ambiance or whatever…you tell me!
Tibchi

Opened in Nov 2009 serving Tibetan Momos, Dumplings, Dimsum, Shabhaklep and Thukpa and Thenthuk traditional Tibetan soups.
This is a small restaurant on the main road in Varca, owned and run by Gerry and Delhi. It's small, clean and cosy and the food.... to be honest momos to me are usually a bit tasteless but here they are good but the fried momos are delicious, very different. The shabhaklep, which Gerry described as a flat momo, was very good; I would say more like a flat Cornish Pasty!
In season don’t be surprised if you have to queue but you can pre order and collect and take it away!
I realize that some may see momos as a starter, at Tibchi’s you get 8 pieces, which I found more than enough, but they also have noodles and fried rice. Most come under my 100rs threshold for dinner and a beer!

A local restaurant that's open all year serving the local chaps in monsoon and the long term expats in the season. This is an exceptionally friendly place serving excellent food, it's located on one of the side roads opposite the main entrance to the 5 star hotel and is often busy with the Hotel chaps so you can see its good!
Food is fresh and seasonal so in monsoon its a different menu, the ambiance is basic with just 4 tables! There's no view but you can watch the cricket on the tv,
Love it and so does everyone else!
It falls into the 100 bucks or less category, just!

With more than 25 years experience in F & B, this local restaurant brings in diners from as far away as Panjim. It specialises in seafood which will take you over the '100 bucks' limit, but the 'veg' should come just within, but seriously this is a real gem, just 4 tables and not a menu in sight!
